365 Days Of Junk - Day 136

Mid Century Modern Butler/Valet Chair

I don't know exactly what to call this chair. A valet chair? A butler? It's one of those things for a man to hang a suit on, with an area for keys and change. That's a valet, right? But... It also has a chair with a small drawer underneath. I love the wood, the woven seat, and the lines of this piece. It was also need amazing shape, when I purchased it. It just needed a little cleaning.

Mid Century Modern Black Vinyl Chair

This chair is covered in black vinyl. It has very thin metal legs. The back of the chair is tufted. The best part, is that the chair swivels and rocks. I have had this piece for a while, so I don't remember for sure what I paid for it. But... I think I paid less than $10. I am sure that I paid less than $20 for it.

Oh... The zebra pillow was a thrift store purchase too!

365 Days Of Junk - Day 134

Wine Rack Table

I'm not sure if this is meant to be a table also, or just a wine rack. The base is a heavy metal (probably iron) and is painted black. I was told that the top is made of rose wood, but I'm not certain of that. Either way, it was a steal at around $5!

365 Days Of Junk - Day 133

Ornate Jade (?) Bottle

I really believe this piece is made of Jade, but I am not 100% sure. It is spectacular, whatever it is. It is 2 pieces (top & bottom) carved out of what I assume to be Jade. It is difficult to see, but the shape around the bottle are flowers. Some of the flowers appear to have some part broken off, but the carvings are so ornate that it is difficult to detect.

I paid less than $12 for this bottle, from a local Goodwill store. I truly wish I knew more about it. Oh... I would estimate that it is 10 inches tall, with the top on.

365 Days Of Junk - Day 132

Brass Rams Head Table

This is another favorite thrift store table! This is a brass end table with rams heads on the corners. It has a heavy glass top. This table was in amazing condition! It really is almost like new. It is so interesting to see the items that some people give away.

365 Days Of Junk - Day 131

Large Foo Dog Statues

OK... I haven't purchased these guys, yet. But... I REALLY want them. They are a pair of Foo Dogs that stand a few feet tall. They are not made of concrete. They are some kind of something over fiberglass. They are starting to show a fair amount of wear and would need a decent amount of work. So, at $35 each I think they are kind of pricey. They have already been reduced, once. If the store drops the price more, then I will be forced to buy them. Stay tuned... If I get them, I will update everyone. But seriously, how great are these??????

365 Days Of Junk - Day 130

Lucite & Chrome End Table

This is perhaps my second favorite thrift store table purchase, of all time! (Did that make sense????)

It has square shaped Lucite legs with chrome bars in between. It also has a heavy, thick glass top. It is beautiful and just needed a bit of clean up!

365 Days Of Junk - Day 129

White Vase with Tulips

This is kind of a simple vase. It is white with red tulips and leaves painted on the front. I really like the scalloped edges! I think it is pretty and feminine.

365 Days Of Junk - Day 128

Nevco Cutting Board

I think this piece is so much fun. It is a painted cutting board by Nevco, copyright 1967. The back of the board (the side which is not painted) reads, "use this space and save my face." Cute, right?

365 Days Of Junk - Day 127

Bruce Fox Metal Ware Tray

This is a tray or serving piece by Bruce Fox. The handles resemble bamboo. I has a nice size and weight.

365 Days Of Junk - Day 126

Nambe Butterfly Bowl

When I bought this bowl, I had no idea that it had any value or even a recognizable name! I thought it was just a great looking metal bowl, with a fun shape. So... When I was cleaning it up, I search Nambe 569 and realized what it is. It is a metal bowl that was originally designed in the 60's By Richard K. Thomas. It is apparently oven and freezer safe.

365 Days Of Junk - Day 125

Rare Antique Whiskey Zodiac Series Bottles

These are old Rare Antique Whiskey bottles from 1970. These are from the Zodiac Series. The brown bottle depicts Libra on one side and Aries on the other. The green one depicts Cancer on one side and Capricorn on the other. I really love the color of the green one.
