365 Days Of Junk - Day 314

Vintage Smith-Corona Typewriter

This is a vintage Smith-Corona Typewriter with the case. I left the tag on, so everyone can see where it came from and the price. I bought it from Goodwill for $16.91. Oh... I forgot to mention that it works!

365 Days Of Junk - Day 313

Globe Wernicke Card File

I found this in a local Goodwill Store. I snagged it as soon as the lady put it on the shelf, even though I didn't really know what it was. It is a wooden Globe Wernicke file box. It's kind of like a card catalog but bigger. To give you a better idea of size, I guess it would hold the really large index cards. As you can see in the last picture, I only paid $5.45 for this gem. What a steal, right?

365 Days Of Junk - Day 312

Vintage Green Wicker Chair

This is a wicker chair that is similar to one of the wicker peacock chairs, but it is much smaller. It is still larger enough for an adult to sit in, but it doesn't have the high fan shaped back. The previous owner painted it green and put a lavender cushion on it. I really like it this way! I found it in a local Goodwill Store and paid $15.91 for it.

Happy Valentine's Day

I wanted to wish everyone a safe, happy, and sweet Valentine's Day! Here is a doodle that I created this morning:

I'm not sure why I love Valentine's Day so much... Perhaps I love it because it is an occasion when you are supposed to give chocolate candy as a gift!

This weekend, I plan to have a post about what's been going on in my like. There has been lots of drama around here, which has interfered with my 365 Days Of Junk postings. Stay tuned.

365 Days Of Junk - Day 311

Primitive Folk Art Corner Cabinet

This may be my all-time favorite thrift store furniture purchase! It is a primitive corner cabinet, with 2 doors and a drawer in the middle. It is truly primitive, from the wood to the hardware. It is just amazing. It is painted a dark green with stunning, floral folk art decorations on it. I paid a fair amount for this piece. I paid $150 for it in a charity thrift store. This particular thrift store discounts furniture a little bit each week, and I bought this the same day it was put on the floor. I know a piece this unique wouldn't last long.

365 Days Of Junk - Day 310

Vera Bradley Book Cover

This is a Vera Bradley book cover, a paperback cover to be exact. The pattern is Capri Blue. I LOVE the various blue tone in this pattern. It is super easy to find Vera Bradley products in thrift stores, because they are so popular. A lot of stores have gotten wise to the popularity of Vera Bradley products and specially prices them. This piece, however, was not specially priced. I bought this one in a Goodwill store for $1.91, and it still has the tags on it! It is like new!

365 Days Of Junk - Day 309

Remington Rand Typewriter

This is an old Remington Rand typewriter. Anyone know how old it might be? I am calling it "old" because I'm not sure if it's old enough to be considered antique. It seems to work and still have a ribbon. It even came with the original cover. I found it in a local, charity thrift store. I think I paid a bit too much for it, at $60, but since the money goes directly to support a charity I thought it was worth it.

365 Days Of Junk - Day 308

Banana Republic Rain Boots

These were a Goodwill Store purchase, at the regular boot price, which is $6.96. They are black, rubber Banana Republic rain boots. They have the traditional style of English riding boots and are in nearly new condition. These are women's boots, and if I remember correctly they are a size 7 or 7.5. I think they were a great buy for the price, especially given their condition. An absolutely perfect find for great snow of 2014 that shut the city of Atlanta down for a day and a half!
